Project Summary

The Computer Doctors contacted me in late 2008 asking for a poster to help them promote the ‘Custom Gaming PCs’ that they offer. They wanted an engaging poster for the front of their building that would catch people’s attention and bring them into the retail location. Rather than design a typical poster depicting one of the pieces of hardware offered for sale, I quickly decided that I wanted to have some fun with this project and starting sketching out some ideas. I took inspiration for this poster from old-school science fiction posters, working with a color palette, layout and messaging reminiscent of those 1950s movie marquees.

The Docs loved the design (they especially liked the ‘Rated A for AWESOME’ rating in the lower left of the poster) and now have this 'Alien Invasion' poster displayed outside of their location in Tiverton, Rhode Island (I also have a copy of it hanging on the wall of my home office).
