Project Summary
This Web site for the Brown University Rugby Club was done through my work with Envision Technology Advisiors. The team wanted a site that would reflect both the excitement and energy of their sport, but at the same time stay true to the traditions of both the school and the club. Additionally, the site needed to be easy to maintain and update as the players themselves would be responsible for keeping the content up to date.
This project was a challenging one, and certain sacrifices needed to be made to keep the project to the rigid specs of the University. Brown had very specific requirements and standards that needed to be met, but in the end, I am proud of the design that we came up with and think it effectively captures the elements that were important to the team.
I was responsible for the design and XHTML and CSS build of the site. Since the site has been turned over to the team, they have made numerous additions to the pages, including adding the Picassa-powered photo gallery, so the site that is online now is a mix of my original work and the change that have been made since that launch. The overall design and feel of the site, however, is true to my original concepts.
You can see the site at www.brownrugby.com. Be sure to check ou the club's schedule if you're in the area and want to see a good rugby match!
