The Mythic Legions action figure customs of Jeremy Girard

Angel

Gabriel

As soon as I saw the figures from Mythic Legions 1.0, I knew that I wanted to add some of the feathered wings from the Gothitropolis Ravens wave onto one of those figures to create an Angel. While early information stated that these wings would, indeed, be compatible with Mythic Legions, in the end they were not. Refusing to be detered, I decided to find a way to make the wings work with these figures so I could create a number of angels for my collection!

Recipe

This figure started with the golden armor of a gold knight legion builder with a torso from a Sir Valgard. I added some purple paint to the legion builder pieces to coordinate the colors and bring out the details. The loin piece is from a Sir Ignatius, and that purple color worked well with teh rest of the figure's colors. The head for the custom comes from a DC Aquaman figure with the eyes painted.

To attach the wings, I drilled small holes in the back of the figure's pauldron armor (this was long before the 4H announced that they would be making adapter pieces to use these wings on Mythic Legions' figures). I wanted the Angel to be able to wear both the pauldrons and the wings, so I could not attach the wings using the holes in the back of the torso where the pauldrons plug into. A very small hole in the armor itself allowed me to pop the pegs of the wings in place and they stay intact perfectly! The connection point is not strong enough for me to display the wings in a "flight pose", but that was fine for me since I intended to have my Angels with their wings folded behind them.

This is my angelic trumpeter, so I needed him to have a golden horn, which I took from a Palisades Muppets Gonzo figure!
