The Mythic Legions action figure customs of Jeremy Girard

Barbarian

Death Dealer

This is my Mythic Legions version of a classic fantasy character – Death Dealer by Frank Frazetta.

It’s always interesting to me how my customs come about. Sometimes I carefully plan things out for months, acquiring the specific parts I need to realize my vision. Other times a custom comes together super quick using parts that are in my fodder bins. That is what happened with this guy. Honestly, I have no real connection to this character. I always thought he looked cool, but I never had a strong desire to have a Death Dealer figure in my collection. To be honest, when I first put him together, I did so with the intention of selling the completed custom, but now that I have him in hand, I love how he came out and can't imagine parting with him!

You can read this character's story on my Instagram page.

Recipe

The base body on this is a Mythic Legions Barbarian set. To change the look of that body and get it closer to some of the Death Dealer images I have seen, I used some chest armor from a LOTR Battle Cry Uruk-hai (it is rubbery and it pops right over the Mythic torso). His loin armor and sword are also from LOTR figures (Rohirrim and King Theoden) while his belt piece is from a Warcraft Arathas. I also used some Goblin Legion Builder pauldrons and added some paint wear to them and the rest of the armor to get it to match the chest piece I had used. The head and axe are customs I got quite some time ago (they are no longer available) and his shield is from an old Spawn Skullsplitter figure. The horse is also an old Spawn toy. I added a bit of paint to the armor pieces and a helmet taken from a Warcraft Headless Horsemen horse.
