The Mythic Legions action figure customs of Jeremy Girard

Duergar

Thyrumm Hammerspike

I have wanted to add a Duergar / dark dwarf to my collection for quite some time. I have also wanted to test out the heads from some of the old Warcraft dwarf figures to see if they would work with Mythic bodies. This custom gave me a chance to do both!

Recipe

For my Duergar, I wanted him to stand out from the other dwarves in my display. To that end, I didn’t want to use an existing ML head. I happened to get an old Warcraft Muradin Bronzebeard figure in a lot I won recently, and unlike many of these figures his beard was intact and not broken. The head itself was maybe a tad big for the ML body and the way the hair flavored out looked a little off, but the addition of some armor from a LOTR Morranan Orc bulked up the body and shoulder a bit, making the parts fit together perfectly! The head itself is attached with a small peg I customized to fit both openings (neck and torso). I repainted the head to give it the gray skin and white hair that Duergar are known for.

The body on this is a Cavern Dwarf with some paint added. One arm is cobbled together from a Brother Mandibulus with a hand from Bothar (parts from my bins) and the other arm is from a WWE set that I repainted with the same skin color as the head. That arm plugs right into the ML torso and retains all articulation.

For his weapon, I also wanted something unique and wicked. I used an ML mace handle with the top piece from the dwarf hammer. I glued on a pair of spikes from a Goblin Legion Builder to really add a new look to the weapon and gave him a shield from an old Spawn Viking Age figure.
