The Mythic Legions action figure customs of Jeremy Girard

Ice Demon

Baas Frostbones, the "Snow Miser"

For the holiday season, I decided to do a pair of customs inspired by the classic holiday characters of the Heat Miser and the Snow Miser, from the special "The Year Without a Santa Claus". I decided to make the Snow Miser into an "ice demon", a new race for my display of Legions. Be sure to also check out the companion Fire Dwarf/Heat Miser!

Recipe

This custom had a pretty involved recipe. His head is a custom cast from Plastic Curves. I had it cast in a clear, icy blue color, so I wanted the rest of his limbs to match. To achieve that, I used the upper arms and upper legs from Hagnon and used a watered down blue paint to tint the plastic while still retaining the transparency. It is hard to see those limbs in these pics because of the other parts covering them, but it worked great and the limbs are now a transparent blue color like the head! For that head, I simply painted the eyes and added some white frost effects.

The body armor parts came from a Gorthokk with a black knight chest that I painted to match. I gave all those parts some white frost effects with a paint wipe. For the pauldrons, I also added some icicles taken from a McFarlane Jack Frost. I cut those icicles off and glued some to the edges of the armor and other pieces are glued underneath, creating the cool icy look I ended up with!

The ice demon’s loin pieces come from a LOTR Lurtz as his ice sword is from a Batman Mr Freeze toy. Finally, it is hard to see here, but he also has the fur piece from Freya of Deadhall on his back.
