The Mythic Legions action figure customs of Jeremy Girard

Sorcerer

Scaphoid

Scaphoid is a figure I didn't really care for when I first saw him, but who I really loved once I had him in hand. Still, I always felt like something more could be done to the figure to set him apart from the rest of the skeletons and to play up his magical nature. This custom is my answer to that!

All in all, this isn't much of a "custom" at all. It simply uses a few parts to add some extra flair to Scaphoid, but I love how these simply changes really bring out this character. You can read more about this character on my Instagram page.

Recipe

The figure itself is just a standard Scaphoid with no changes made to the base figure. I added a cape from a Marvel Select Doom figure. I had cut the hood off that cape to use in another custom, so I just placed this over the figure's head and added some holes in the back of the cape for the pauldrons to snap into. The front of the cape is really tight and it actually squeezes the neck armor, which gives the figure a different look and somewhat his the bottom of his face. That was something of a happy accident, but once I saw it, I loved how it looked!

The hands are from Marvel Select Drax. I painted them to match the rest of the armor and trimmed the pegs a bit to get them to fit into the holes on the Mythic Legions lower arm armor. I loved how these expressive hands looked with this figure. The lack of expressive hands is actually one of the only complaints I have about Mythic Legions, because they really do add so much character to a figure!

Finally, I used some "spell" effects from a Marvel Legends figure to finalize the toy and give him the magical quality I wanted for this character.
