The Mythic Legions action figure customs of Jeremy Girard

Warlord

The Sheriff of Nottingham

Most of the time when I design my Mythic Legions customs, I create a single new figure/character. Recently, I decided to embark on a bigger project and create a little mini-wave of characters that I am calling my "Woodland Bandits". These are obviously inspired by Robin Hood and his Merry Men, but reimagined so they fit within the world of Mythoss. This figure is my version of Robin's arch enemy, the Sheriff of Nottingham. When designing this character, I wanted to make him a worthwhile villian. As such, I imagined him as a brutal warlord set on conquering the land and people whom Robin and his men seek to protect.

Be sure to also see the individual pages for my versions of Robin, Friar Tuck, Will Scarlet, and Little John.

Recipe

This tribute to the Sheriff of Nottingham really started with the awesome head. It is one that I actually found on eBay and decided to use in this custom. It is a repainted Masters of the Universe Count Marzo. I love how the skull face paint looks a bit haphazardly applied, just like actual face paint would look.

The figure's body is from a ML Baron Volligar. I repainted the chest and loin to remove the purple symbol and just make it plain black. The cape is from a Marvel Legends Thor figure and his weapons are both from some older Stan Winston figures. The sword came with the Trak figure from the Blood Wolves line and the axe is from one of the figures in the Realm of the Claw series.

All in all, this was a very easy "custom" for me since I bought the face painted as is, which meant this design was more about combining the right parts than doing any actual customization work. Still, I love this figure and think it works great with the rest of my Woodland Bandits series.
