Project Summary
The Little Compton Agricultural Conservancy Trust (LCACT) was a project I worked on through The Computer Doctors. This organization's mission is, according to their site, to “preserve farmland and open space in the town of Little Compton through outright land purchase, the purchase of development rights, or the receipt of donations of land or easements.”
When I was presented with this project, I was told that the client needed a site to promote their mission and list out relevant news and land holdings that the Trust had. They also wanted to provide information on how land owners could make an application to the Trust to do their part to preserve Little Compton.
Armed with some wonderful photos of their land holdings, I decided to use very earthy tones of browns and greens for the site, which I felt was in line with the organization's brand. The client loved the design direction and, in a rare, but welcome change from the norm, they approved the look and feel immediately with no requested revisions. That means that the final design is totally in line with my initial vision for this site. There really were no compromises made based on client feedback or unfortunate choices that I was forced to make. Wonderfully cool for me as a designer to have that happen, as rare as it is.
