Project Summary
Restaurant Sites 2GO, or RS2GO, is a product of The Computer Doctors. Having been friends and frequent collaborators with the team at The Computer Doctors for years, I was excited when they approached me with an idea to provide low cost, high quality website designs aimed at the small, local restaurant owner.
Starting with the company's business goals and core concept, I created this brand from the ground up, starting with the name of the system/company. I then created the logo and brand standards that the remaining visual materials, from the Web site design to any printed collateral, would adhere to.
For the website, I wanted to go with something that was attractive and clean and very much to the point of what this system provides - starting with the primary message on the homepage that states “We provide low cost, high quality websites to restaurants, pubs, diners or any place where food & drink is enjoyed.” Being able to contribute most of the site's copy helped me shape this to my exact vision and I think the final site does a good job of highlighting the system's benefits and value to the core audience this company is hoping to reach.
The site itself uses some of the CSS3 transition effects I have been favoring as of late and it also was my first real foray into the world of jQuery, something I have been hoping to play with for some time, but have yet to find an excuse to do so. This was a perfect excuse to experiment and the ‘teaser gallery’ on the homepage uses some simply jQuery animation to fade in and out of designs while the contact form uses jQuery for some simply validation and submission.
In addition to the logo design and the design of the system's site, I also created a number of design examples, viewable on the site's gallery page.
Any chance to work with my friends at The Computer Doctors is one I am excited for and this project proved no different. Check out the final site at www.RestaurantSites2GO.com.
